Utilising a Raspberry Pi 4 as an Open SRT server.
Current HDMI input from VK5YYY.
Each nightly broadcast at 7pm is firstly received as an SRT stream from Roger, VK5YYY, in Whyalla. A signal at his workshop location is taken off air from the VK5RDC repeater on-air broadcast on 445.5MHz and rebroadcast as a stream to my Raspberry Pi 4 OpenSRT Server at my QTH.
I also have another OpenSRT Server running at my QTH, with a different stream input address. This provides another HDMI output source that can be utilised by myself or other amateurs, that could be in turn, used to provide other HDMI video content to my DVB-T transmitter.
Both of these Raspberry Pi 4 outputs are fed into a professional HDMI mixing desk. This allows switching and preview content prior to transmission. Both Pis are connected via ethernet to and accessed from my local network.
Each initial software install requires total control of the Raspberry Pi 4 and as such, the unit is run 'headless' with no mouse nor keyboard. Each Pi has only once instance of OpenSRT Server running. Hence, two Pis for two input streams. To access each server, enter the server ip address in a web browser URL and enter the admin name and password.
