Using a commercial test tool.

To measure is to know.

A valuable tool for a modest price.

DVB-T signals are complex beasts and having a tool to make quick, sensible measurements, will help one to be steered on the right track.

The SatKing SK-2500C HD Terrestrial Meter is a great meter for taking off-air signal measurement of television signals as used by TV system installers. It is not the only brand, but it is one I can recommend for amateur television on the 70cm ham bands - as well as local TV!

It is menu driven, has frequency entry search, spectrum viewing, channel viewing on screen and HDMI output to a monitor, if required. AC adaptor and/or battery operation powered. This is an amazing piece of kit for the price around of AUD250.

Easy TV signal measurements.

This item is an invaluable piece in my DATV toolkit. Need to see any transmission settings or levels, this is the quickest thing to reach for. No connection necessarily required. Just a little antenna, maybe.
